Went to a coworker's invite of their friend's music trio performance in a small bar in Filipinotown. I swear I went around the block three times trying to find parking... cranked the nastiest U-y when I finally spotted a space. The bar was packed!!! The performance started at 8pm and I believe we showed up around 8:30(?) and people were already out the door.. and it was hot and cozy in there. Lingered by the doorway got a ginger beer and ended up seeing my coworker and their friends. Good night and good vibes!
Ended up cashing in my three-month free trial for Apple Music after realising my commute after work to my secondary location was an hour and forty-five minutes... my singular Cameron Winter album will only get me so far... On the way I managed to listen to all of the new Frost Children album (bangers sorry Sam I really was sleeping on them) and the new Haim album. Listened to a bit of the new Fka Twigs album on my way home.. didn't have any strong emotions towards it but perhaps a second listen is deserved.
I'm still silently mourning the death (or end) of my no streaming era - there was something about simply turning on the radio to KCRW and having to hear whatever they had on (always the new yorker hour) or attempting to navigate the cursed NTS radio app which NEVER let me play the reruns I wanted. Also very sad news my CD player at home stopped reading discs so I have to try and blast the shit out of the lens... this is coming two months after I finally picked up my dream CD holder from craigslist... god will never let you have two things that you want at the same time.. so for now I'm not allowing myself to purchase anymore CDs until I fix my baby... hopefully soon!
